Easy Affiliate Marketing - The Exciting Viral Method

Affiliate marketing is in the area of internet marketing in which the salespeople (the affiliates) get paid a commission each time they cause a sale that comes in through their affiliate”link.”

It’s a great model and many people have become rich just by selling other people’s products.

It’s the online version of the offline world’s commissioned salespeople, such as the one’s employed by cars dealers, furniture dealers, appliances, real estate and insurance, to name just a few.

But being a commissioned salesperson online (an affiliate) is a lot easier in many ways.

First of all there are the onerous things the affiliate doesn’t have to do.

Affiliate salespeople don’t have to stand “belly to belly’ with their prospects.

They don’t have to show up at certain hours or work on their days off.

They don’t have to dress in a certain manner and they don’t have a “boss.”

They also don’t have to solve delivery or product satisfaction problems.

And they don’t have to collect the money and handle the financing.

Add to that the fact that online commissioned salespeople get a far larger commission than their offline counterparts.

However you look at it, affiliate marketing online is, in lots of ways, better than the offline version.

There are some things an affiliate marketer does have to do, though, and one of them can be the most vexing problem for most affiliates.

And that is the challenge of generating enough traffic to their offers.

Many affiliates suffer from volumes of traffic that are too low for their conversion rates.

Higher traffic will ’solve’ the problem of low conversion rates. And higher conversion rates will compensate for low traffic.

So the “holy grail” for affiliates is to find high conversion products and expose that product to a high traffic flow. An online marketing marriage made in heaven.

But there is another way. It is referred to as ‘viral.”

A good example would be an ebook, or a PDF report, or a series of videos that cover all the points and tools needed to be able to succeed at Internet Marketing.

It could cover the basics, such as terminology and marketing concepts. Also included could be explanations of hosting and domains, traffic generation methods, keyword research, and the basics of websites and blogs.

In this product a prospective affiliate could place some of their affiliate links.

They could then sell this for whatever price point it would bring and make some money. And maybe later a few hits on their links therein.

Or they could give it away, and, knowing that many of the people who got it wouldn’t take it to the next level, they might click some of those links and make the original product developer a nice affiliate commission.

There are internet marketers out there that offer “rebrandable” reports in which you can take the original affiliate links out and put yours in. That’s another great idea.

If you need to make some extra money or you have the ambition to make a lot of money, affiliate marketing could just be perfect for you.

Are you in need of extra money? Would you like to see a way to make that money that isn’t so hard and can even be fun once you get it up and running! Success In Affiliate Marketing for Newbies Depends On Good Research

January 6th, 2010

Tech Geeks are not the ones doing Internet marketing. Success can be found in affiliate marketing for newbies as well.

No matter what you’ve heard though it isn’t going to be easy. However if you know what you’re doing it is simple.

When looking into getting started with affiliate marketing these are some of the things you’ll need to be aware of.

Has the company you’re looking to promote been in business very long? The longer they’ve been in business the more likely that they are stable and profitable. You definitely want to be a little suspect of an affiliate business or program that is really new.

It is to your advantage to keep tabs on affiliate programs for a while to see how they’re doing. It’s kind of like shopping for someone to invest your savings with. Take a look at their track record before investing money and time in them.

Look at how much traffic they’re getting. The sites with the most traffic generally are the most profitable and popular. The opposite is usually true of those not doing well. You can get more details of the site at the alexa.com traffic rank.

Since you’re probably looking at this venture for income purposes any good affiliate marketing for newbies should offer a good commission structure. Find out if the program offers a percentage of the sale or a fixed amount per sale.

You’ll also want to see if the commission payment is recurring or if it’s a one tier or multi tier program. The most profitable programs offer a revenue share income.

A 2-tier affiliate program allows the affiliate marketer to earn money on the sales of people they recruit as well as their own sales.

Some affiliate programs require a minimum commission be reached before they will send a check. This is not unusual and is fair especially if your check would only be for a small amount. But this is information you would want to find out about in advance.

If you can find out who else is promoting the affiliate program this could be another piece of helpful information to know about in advance. It might be a little time consuming, but looking at what your competitors are promoting is a good idea.

For example if a super affiliate is promoting the same affiliate program you’re considering then it is probably worth your while. It probably means that it has proven itself as a profitable program for them to continue to pursue.

The Realities Of Internet Marketing In 2010 Without Sugar Coating It

December 27th, 2009

As we prepare to enter into a new year here are many reasons to be excited about internet marketing. However you need to be realistic and understand exactly what challenges are ahead of you.

I thought in this article I would go over a few key points on Internet marketing today without sugarcoating it. Hopefully you will be able to take these thoughts and use them to motivate yourself to become more successful in 2010.

1. Plan on doing paid advertising and not just relying on free advertising. Depending on the niche your Internet business is in will determine how much paid advertising you must do.

Your competitors are already planning on how they will increase their business next year. The chances are extremely good they will be increasing their advertising budgets as well.

It is just not realistic to think you can get your business to a profitable level relying 100% on free advertising. So what kind of marketing should you be doing?

Pay Per Click advertising on search engines other than Google is a trend I see happening. For example I know of one Internet marketing guru who gets 65% of her traffic doing PPC advertising on Yahoo.

Bing and other search engines also have programs that can provide you with quality traffic at a fraction of the price that Google Adwords charges. Go to payperclicksearchengines.com to find hundreds of ppc search engines to promote on.

2. For once in your life put some focus into your business. If you are going to be an affiliate marketer concentrate on becoming the best one you can be.

Learn affiliate marketing inside and out and implement what you learn into your business. Focus on getting one niche making money before adding another one.

The same thing is true if you decide to join a network marketing company. Learn network marketing inside out and use it to build as large of a business as possible.

Write down your goals and focus entirely on making money with one website before adding another one. This tip alone can earn you a lot of money next year.

3. Whatever your strategy for building an Internet marketing business be sure and incorporate email marketing into it. This means building an email list that you can promote to.

Anyone who makes good money on the Internet today has a sizable email list. If these top Internet marketers are doing it why do you think you don’t have to.

This is another area where you should learn the ins and outs of list building and then put together a strategy to add new subscribers every day. In the long run your Internet business will thank you.

4. The bottom line is Internet marketing is getting extremely competitive. No longer can you write a handful of articles and expect to generate a lot of traffic from them.

Unless you outsource some of your daily Internet marketing needs it’s not realistic to think you can get by working five hours a week on your business either.

The good news is there are more people making money on the Internet today than at any time in history. If you will buckle down and make a solid commitment to do a few things correctly you can be one of them in 2010.

Affiliate Cloaking: How To Double Your Affiliate Commissions Overnight

December 27th, 2009

I know how the affiliate marketing game goes because that is what I do full-time. I know the ins and outs of the whole process, and the excitement of a well thought out and perfectly executed affiliate campaign, which results in a steady stream of affiliate commissions. I also know what it is like to watch those same successful campaigns dry up suddenly for no logical reason at all. Sometimes they never even get off the ground when all the indicators are there that they should be profitable.

If this has happened to you before here is what I think the main problem is and a solution to deal with it.

If you are an affiliate marketer it is highly likely that you take the following steps when building a successful campaign:

1) You build a landing page to suck in as many leads as possible

2) You follow-up with these leads via a targeted email autoresponder campaign

3) You drive traffic to this new campaign

In a nutshell, you build a highly successful sales funnel, meant to sell a product or several related products, and you drive traffic to that funnel in a number of ways.

After building this successful sales funnel what happens if you don’t seem to be getting any sales? You get plenty of leads coming in, which means your traffic is converting, but the sales seem non-existent. Why is this?

Well, the first thing I would do is check my email follow-up series. There must be something wrong with my email sales copy, or my links, or the way I am pre-selling the offer.

But what if you are getting a ton of clicks to your products but no sales? Is it the product itself that is the issue? This could be. You really cannot be 100% sure of the problem at this point, and you may never know. The product itself could be a dud.

Well, I have had many campaigns like this over the years and I usually would just let them go and move on. That was until I experienced a very successful campaign, which had a consistent sales conversion rate and everything working properly, just stop working. Not a little bit either. The sales went to ZERO, overnight.

I spent some time asking other affiliates about this and found out it was a pretty common problem. I also found out what that problem was and how to combat it too. It is unfortunate that many affiliates do not understand what is really going on with their commissions.

I’ll try to explain a little of what could be happening to your sales in this article.

The most frustrating thing of all is that it is highly possible your sales funnels could be making a ton of sales and that you are just not getting credited with those sales. In other words, you are doing all of the work and someone else is getting your commissions. That doesn’t sit well with me and should not sit well with you either.

The Problem: Affiliate Link Theft

Without getting too technical, here is what is happening.

Your affiliate ID is being changed to someone else’s at the point of sale, either manually by the user, or via spyware on your computer which was placed there at some point while you were online. You could also be a victim of “cookie stuffing” which many affiliates do to try and protect their own commissions from link thieves.

The problem is that this “cookie stuffing” sometimes steals sales from others as well. These “cookie stuffing” affiliates are just trying to protect their own commissions but they don’t realize they are becoming part of the problem.

Any of these things can stop you from receiving credit for the sale even though you’re the one who should have made it. You cannot stop ALL commission thievery online, but to stop any of it at all you must implement affiliate cloaking into your campaigns.

Link cloaking is when you create a redirect, or a hidden frame redirect on your website that hides your affiliate ID’s and makes it nearly impossible for spyware programs to tinker with your affiliate links at the point of sale.

If you start incorporating affiliate cloaking into your business today you can make a huge difference in your bottom line. It is very possible that you are losing 30-50% of the sales that should be yours. I certainly was.

So now that you know you need affiliate cloaking, lets look at the right and wrong ways to do it.

Choosing A Link Cloaking Service

There are tons of programs and software packages online claiming to be able to help you cloak your links. Many of them are offered for free even. I would not suggest that you go with the first one you find for many reasons. You need to make sure that the link cloaker you use has been created specifically for affiliate marketing and not for some “black hat” seo tricks.

There are not as many affiliate cloaking systems as their are seo cloaking and regular link cloaking software programs so you need to be careful what you choose.

Do NOT Use Free Cloaking Services

I understand that everyone is looking for a bargain these days, but when it comes to your affiliate commissions be willing to do what is best for your business. The most notable free link redirection and cloaking services online are those provided by companies like tinyurl.com, bit.ly, budurl.com and others.

These services started out as a way to shorten long URL’s but have recenly been taking steps to supply affiliates with link cloaking too.

The problem with many of these services is that they don’t work with every kind of affiliate link or program, and many times will actually hinder your ability to get visitors to your site!

The horror stories are too numerous of people who used redirection services such as TinyURL and Bit.ly and lost commissions. Many spammers use these services to try and cloak their links too, which results in many of these links not being accepted as viable URL’s by spam filters and other email services.

It is in your best interest to not use these services at all.

The Best Link Cloaking Service

The best link cloaker is one that you can upload to your own servers so you don’t have to worry about anything breaking down or not working properly.

This means you could create a separate website to house ALL of your cloaked links, or upload the cloaking script to each individual website you are promoting and create site specific links.

Depending on which way you want to go (I actually use both methods) it can be difficult to accomplish any of it if you are not a web programmer, or don’t want to outsource the project to someone you are not sure you can trust.

With all of the different options available out there in regards to link cloaking it is very important to spend some time learning about the concept from an affiliate marketing standpoint. Once I got hooked up with the right cloaking systems my commissions doubled practically overnight for many of the products I was originally having trouble selling.

And now I would like to invite you to receive Instant Free Access to my affiliate cloaking report! To Survive as an Affiliate Marketer with an Internet Income Business Follow these 3 Tips

December 25th, 2009

As an affiliate marketer who would like to not only survive but also generate a large income you will need to utilize these 3 tips given here and be prepared to work hard as there is not magical formula to success.

Here are 3 marketing tips to help you succeed in your online business as an affiliate marketer. These tips will help to improve your sales and help you survive the competitive internet based business world.

1. Give your readers free reports. Either place these reports where they can be easily seen near the top of your website or alternatively give them as an incentive to visitors who are will to give you their name and email address.

Use a unique squeeze page, in other words one that is different from what everyone else is using, to offer your reports in exchange for their email address and make sure that you have an opt in box on that squeeze page that goes to your auto-responder account.

Something well worth keeping in mind is that most people will not buy a product the first time they see it. Normally it will take a minimum of seven views for them to make the purchase. Remember also that generally people are happier to buy things from someone that they feel comfortable with and that they believe they can trust, so by getting their email address, you can begin to build a relationship with them and let them know that there is a real person behind the website and product who is willing to get to take the time to know them and is not just trying to make a sale and move on.

If the only connection is the product on your website, not only will you not build a list, but chances are that even if someone is interested in the product you are selling they will move on and in the end buy it from someone else.

2. Promote each product on a separate web page. If you use this method of marketing your products you will be keeping the reader focused on one thing at a time and they will become less distracted than if there were too many things on the one page.

Include a review on each product which will help the prospective customer to make a decision on whether or not to buy. This not only gives it a more personal touch but also helps to encourage a sale. If you are able to get some testimonials from any of your previous customers who have already tried the product then this is something that you can use to your advantage.

Just be sure that those customers are happy to allow you to use their name and if possible their photo.

3. Aim to generate a lot of targeted traffic to your website. There is absolutely no point in getting people to visit your site who have no interest whatsoever in the products that you are promoting. Write articles and submit them to ezines and article directories and focus on the niche that you are promoting your products to. There is no point in spending your time promoting your affiliate internet business where no one is interested in what you are selling, but writing articles and publishing them in article directories is a great way to become known and brand yourself and your business and the best thing is that this type of advertising will not cost you any money.

If you want to benefit from marketing your online business by using article marketing you will need to write a minimum of 2 articles every week. By doing this consistently over a period of time you will begin to build traffic that is interested in what you have to say and in what you are selling.

None of these tips are really difficult to follow and take action on it just needs some time and thought from you. Try using these tips for a few of your affiliate internet based business programs and see how they will help your opportunity to survive as an online affiliate marketer. The other bonus will be the increase in the amount of money that you will be making.
