Begin Your Internet Marketing Business Well

January 12th, 2010

Many people like the idea of starting up an online business, but sadly many of them fail within the first year. It’s not that they haven’t given it their all, or that they don’t have the talent. More often than not it is because they just don’t know what to do.

If you’re starting an online marketing business, there are a few tools you’ll need to have in your kit to ensure that your business won’t go belly-up before you can start making a profit.

What you need initially is to recognize your level of expertise in the various aspects of internet marketing. The great thing about this field is that you don’t have to be good at every aspect of IM to make a go of it in the business.

You can easily outsource the parts of a job that lie outside your area of expertise, to another provider who is more skilled at that particular task. Realizing your limitations and acknowledging when you need to delegate will keep you from getting out of your depth, becoming stressed and frustrated, and possibly delivering projects that do not meet your expectations or those of your clients.

Once you’ve done a thorough self-assessment, you can then work on the basic skills you need to turn your business into a seven-figure operation.

It will be necessary for you to acquire some basic marketing, writing and web skills. You should find out how those in the top end of town think, and learn how to think like them.

You’ll also need to learn how to build recurring income, a steady flow of cash to your business from regular customers — and most of all, you’ll need to learn how to make a Mafia offer, that is an offer your client can’t refuse.

One of the best ways to ensure the success of your Internet based business is to find a reputable mentor who can help guide you through the early stages of getting your business up and running. There are good mentors out there — but there are also some shady operators.

Make sure you check your mentor out before you fork out hundreds of dollars for advice. There are no secrets on the internet - so if your chosen mentor is disreputable or unqualified this will be sure to have been made public by someone.

Having your Internet business fizzle out can leave you angry, embittered, and worst of all, broke. By learning the ropes of IM from an expert, you can ensure your success and the future prosperity of your marketing business.

Discover Why Internet Marketing And Traditional Retail Business Are Similar

October 12th, 2009

If you are new to internet marketing it can be difficult to really understand exactly what it’s really all about. I would like to help to clarify that by making comparisons to a traditional retail business, which most people do understand, I think you will be surprised at just how many similarities there actually are. What this article will do is give you a better understanding of what internet marketing is really all about.

We all know how retail business works, after all we all go into shops, stores, showrooms and restaurants, in the high street and buy things. So let’s take a look and see what the similarities are between say a fitted kitchen showroom, and an online business.

Fitted Kitchen Showroom:

1. You open a showroom and fill it with beautiful kitchen displays. You make it comfortable, luxurious and welcoming.

2. You advertise in various different ways, for example in the press, leaflet drops, local radio, to attract people who may be interested in a new kitchen.

3. These people come to take a look at your shop, which is beautifully fitted, and their desire level rises. You arrange to go and measure their kitchen, design a new one and give them a costing.

4. After you have done this they come back into your shop, where you show them the plan and design of their potential new kitchen, and you give them the price.

5. They love the design and the price and they decide to buy, or they decide to think about it, in which case you stay in touch, and follow up. You can make further offers or whatever and they may buy at some point in the future.

Now let’s compare this to an online business, where you are marketing a business opportunity for example:

1. Your showroom is a website. You make it interesting and informative.

2. You promote it in a variety of ways, by article marketing or Google ad words for example to drive traffic, that traffic being people who might be interested in taking a look at a business opportunity.

3. These people visit your website, which is interesting and informative, and has what they are searching for, they want to know more. You email them more information.

4. They email back with queries, you give them more information or answer their questions, and tell them how much the cost would be to get started.

5. They realise it’s exactly what they are looking for and are happy with the cost and they decide to buy in, or they decide to think about it some more, in which case you stay in touch and follow up. You make further offers or give more information and they may buy at some point in the future.

Now the purpose here is to help define what internet marketing really is, not to say that traditional business and online business are really the same thing, because they are not. But as I said right at the start, this should give you a better understanding, especially people who are very new to this industry, of what internet marketing is really all about.

How Would You Define Success or Failure in an Affiliate Marketing Business?

September 24th, 2009

If you have an affiliate marketing internet business and you want to succeed with it, here are some strategies that you need to avoid using as these will surely lead to failure. Just so that you understand, the people who are using these strategies listed below are not actually using them on purpose!

Generally the failure rate amongst internet marketers is high somewhere in the region of 95% that fail. To begin with though we first need to define what success is as it is different for everyone.

The first thing you need to do is decide what you consider success to be for yourself. For some it could be earning enough extra income to pay the mortgage while for others it would be making money monthly in the five figure region.

So whatever you consider to be a success is what will make the difference in you life and will be the deciding factor of whether you have succeeded or failed.

Let’s now talk about the failure strategies that are followed by those people who don’t succeed.

1. The first failure strategy is that they don’t set up a website of their own. By using a replicated website your chances of success are immediately reduced as you will then have a website that looks like the same one everyone else marketing that product is using and there is nothing to make you stand out from the crowd.

2. You have heard the mantra “the money is in the list” if you fail to take note of this, you are setting yourself up to fail.

The importance of capturing names and email ddresses is the basis on which your business will be built and is essential to your success as an affiliate internet marketer.

3. If you are an affiliate marketer it is not necessary to own the product you promote, but it is a good idea to use the product yourself so that you can sell it with knowledge and enthusiasm.

When you use a product and enjoy it you will find it far easier to sell as your own experience with it will help you create a greater interest and your marketing tactics will be far more credible.

4. When you find a product that you would like to market, see that you learn to make money with that product first before adding a second one. The reason so many people fail with internet marketing is that they sign up for one affiliate program and before they have learned to make money with that they are on to the next one.

Because it is usually free to sign up as an affiliate they continue to jump from one product to another and end up not making money with any of them. However great the temptation is to do this, in the end it will not serve you well. This is a sure road to failure.

5. Once you have set up your website and signed up for the program you have decided to promote, your main task will then be to drive targeted traffic to your website so that you can make the sales you require to become a success.

If you don’t generate traffic to your website you cannot sell anything as without any visitors to your site there is no business.

By taking note of these five points and doing what is required without getting side tracked your will steadily build a successful internet business as an affiliate marketer and can obtain the success that is your dream.

Top Five Reasons Why You Should Not Try Internet Marketing?

September 16th, 2009

I was an “average Joe”. I bought into all the hype about Internet Marketing a few months ago and purchased some of the eBooks you’ve seen advertised to learn more about the subject. You don’t have to do this. You can buy any number of them, I’ve found, they all basically say the same things.

If you follow the steps in them and are persistent to become a Pro, I believe you will.

I have been doing marketing for several months now and with persistence, I will quit my job in a few more months and do this full time.

This brings us to “Top 5 Reasons You Should Not Try Internet Marketing”.

1. You are already wealthy

If you are reading this you are probably not wealthy. I have personally bought several marketing eBooks to compare and each one had valuable information that really works.

I’m not saying there are not scams out their but my experience has shown, you can make big money by implementing what you learn and be persistent.

2. You’re a tight wad and won’t spend less than $25

Take it from an “average joe turned PRO”, you can surely do without 1 Mountain Dew for a few days to get started.

3. You have no ambition at all

Internet Marketing is a job. It takes work, but it does pay well.

One thing I don’t believe is you’re going to make millions by working very little.

Treat Internet Marketing as a business and you will succeed.

4. You’re scared to try something new, like web sites

When I started in the business I had no idea how to build a website.

I bought an awesome program and read the manual. Today, plus working a full time job, I crank out a website a week

Now, you can build a site online for free, find free hosts, and pay $6-$8 for a domain name.

It’s very easy and it doesn’t cost too much.

5. You want to stay an “average joe”

I don’t know why. Do you believe money is not everything?

I don’t believe money is everything but it sure helps.
